Permanent tints
Oxidative permanent tint that is Ammonia and Recorcinol free. They also are Metallic free. The gentlest permanent tints available anywhere. We have
Herbatint ($13.50)4.5oz and
Naturtint ($14.40)4.7oz . Since they aren't harsh they can only lighten your hair up to 2 tones max, but can darken it as much as you want. Complete Gray coverage is achieved by using 1-8 N. Up to 2 levels of lift can be achieved by using 8-10 N.
Demi-Permanent Tints
These tints last about 4-6 weeks and gradually fade out of the hair. All the dyes we have in this catagory are all plant based and completely natural in every way. Henna is made from a small shrub called Lawsonia. None of our henna contains metallic particles.
Henna coats each hair shaft with a natural, semi-permanent protein called hennatannic acid. Heat causes the hennatannic acid to cling to the proteins found in the hair (or nails and skin, if desired). Because henna coats and seals the hair shaft, it helps protect the hair from damaging effects of sun, salt, chlorine, wind and pollution in the environment. It can help miminize split ends and acts as “hair insurance” if you spend a lot of time in the sun, surf or wind. In addition to protecting the hair shaft, henna will tighten the hair cuticle and create a more solid surface which reflects light; the result is gleaming, lustrous hair.
Rather than producing dramatic color changes, henna enhances and deepens existing color. The darker your natural color, the less drastic the change will be in your natural color. Because the color from henna is transparent or “see through,” henna cannot lighten dark hair; it will, however, add highlights to dark hair and can darken the color of lighter hair. To determine which shade of henna is best for you based on your original color and the desired result, consult Light Mountain’s easy-to-use color chart. We have Light Mountain ($5.95)4oz which is purely henna and Color the Gray ($8.75)7oz which is Henna that is a double process so you can first coat the hair with a base color and then go over it with the color you want so it will cover the gray better.
Semi-Permanent Tints
Surya Henna ($7.45) 2.31oz is available in 15 different colors ranging from blondes, reds, brunettes to black, guaranteed to cover gray! Surya Henna Cream is not a permanent color, it washes out gradually and will not stain or leave any residue on the hair. Mild, organic, nonmetallic hair colors are added to ensure desired color. Rinses out after 7 - 10 washings. Guaranteed to cover gray hair. Semi-Permanent hair coloring and nourishing treatment for the hair. No peroxide, ammonia, resorcinol, PPD, parabens or heavy metals.
